Also known as a 'Cascadian Dark Ale' style. Uses de-bittered black malts and chocolate wheat malt to create a nearly opaque, smooth blackness, with rye and crystal rye malts to add a bit of heft and chewy complexity. Generously hopped with American bittering hops followed by late additions and a dry hop with Citra and Mosaic hops to create layers of nuanced hop flavors.
